Gym time is fun time

OK, not literally "fun". I was grimacing and sweating and turning red and all those other things turn humans away from me. But it's OK! My arms are sore, and you know what? I'm seeing progress. Fito helps me to track my workouts in a super easy, clean, convenient format. It also [to the right] tracks the history and the PRs (Personal Records) for each workout. I've increased my lat pulldowns by 20 lbs in 8 days.  This is amazing to me. I started out doing 30 lbs with these and have now doubled that in less than a month. I started out with 50 lbs today and moved up to 60 for my second rep because it just felt too easy before. I made sure not to strain myself, but I need to challenge myself to be better with this stuff. So, maybe the weight has doubled even closer to 2 weeks. Yeah so you know how I was all gunned up to go the gym today? Even beyond that, I was psyching myself up to go alone, including looking up videos on dumbbell deadlifts. But then I discovered… I left my gym bag at home. (sigh) I'm so beyond irritated at myself right now….

Hi friends! I'm not tired for the reasons Madeline Kahn is, but who doesn't love a Blazing Saddles reference in the morning? ;) So it was a loooong weekend for the Memorial Day holiday. While Memorial Day is about remembering the sacrifice our troops have made for us, it's also become known as the day of BBQ and potato salad. I myself went to a cookout and was a little nervous about how I'd do with my newer eating habits. I think I did good and not-as-good. Our friends made little sliders, so while I had a few, I didn't feel terrible about it. Plus I didn't load them up with condiments and toppings. I had ½ a grilled pineapple ring on each little slider, plus ½ a strip of bacon. So really it wasn't too bad. I did eat the bread, but you know what stuff happens. It is absolutely exhausting  feeling guilty about what you've eaten. EXHAUSTING! So I just celebrated with my friends instead. Now, I may have gone a little overboard on the cookies (si
