Something new for February

I think over the many, many, many many many years I've been working on some type of weight loss or body improvement, I've come to the realization that I can't say "I'm starting tomorrow!" or "I'm starting Monday!"

I just can't do it.

If I decide I'm starting something, I basically have to start the second I decide, or I'll talk myself out of it later. Or I'll forget (yep, that's totally happened). Case and point, the 90-day challenge I joined with some ladies back in October happened on a completely random day, and even though I found myself going "Wait uhhh what but cookies!", I still started making changes to my diet right then.

So for February, I found this link on a friend's Facebook page for "FABulous February". I'm going to try it, because you start out doing 5 sit-ups (oh Lord…), 20 mountain climbers, and 10 jumping backs. That's doable, right?

Imma let you finish, but shut it Kanye.
You get 2 rest days a week, and do a different routine every other day. Since it starts "small" (the mountain climbers scare me. a lot.), I think it will be easier since it's not like this is going to take forever. Every little bit of movement helps, right?!

I just don't feel great a lot these days. I have a part time job now (helloooooo discount!) which is great, but I'm finding my back and knees sore a lot more because I'm standing for hours at a time. If I could strength my bodaciousness, it would probably help with discomfort.

Sooo that's where I'm at. I'm too lazy to print the chart, so I have it set as my background picture on the laptop. I'm using Youtube to find proper form for stuff like the mountain climbers and back extensions.

Sidenote: homeboy in the mountain climbers video makes it look too easy. I don't trust him.

Regardless of your political leanings, you have to admit Michelle gives a mean stink eye.
Anyway. That's me. How's everyone else doing?

Shame Eating

I found the above image on the interwebs and it always makes me laugh. All.the.time. It's kinda true though, right? IF you've ever had any kind of food addiction then you know the sweet sweet embrace of "one more" handful of kettle corn (ahem), or "one more" piece of bread, or whatever . I was joking with my co-worker that I might as well be shame eating out of the Costco-sized bag of Kettle corn on my counter in the dark, licking the sweet and salty remnants off my fingers. That I can't be trusted alone with it. That I grab a bigger-than-small bowl and PILE it up, lamenting the few rogue pieces that make it to the floor. Another colleague overheard us and said she used to do that with angel food cake. She would sit it on the passenger side and just drive, picking at the fluffy confection. I know a girl who could knock out an entire family size container of Sara Lee pound cake. So friends, those are a few confessions. Using the powers of anonym

Body Image & All That Jazz

This is a post I've been mulling over for a couple of days and thinking of how to approach. It's been prompted because people keep picking up on little nuggets in the blog and asking me questions, so I thought I might as well address everything here in an honest and factual manner. It's about to get real up in here, so grab a snuggie and some ice cream water and let's see what happens. This may be a trigger post, so feel free to skip the  red  text below  to the happier,  more positive green text. =)  I suppose the best place to start is with my eating disorder. Well, "under control" eating disorder is more appropriate. Anyone who's ever had an eating disorder of any variety knows that it never really  goes away. You learn to overcome it 98% of the time, but with the occasional yearn for your former vice or the even more rare slip back into bad habits. I became bulimic when I was about 16, and we had a fast and heavy kind of relationship

Of pizza and fudge [cake]

There comes a time in every girl's life when she has to make a choice. 1 slice or 2? "It's margherita pizza, redhead. How bad can it really be?" I stood in line at a local pizza place eyeing up their margherita pizza with it's circular discs of cheese, smattering of tomatoes, and dried basil leaves. "Yeah, how bad can  it be?" Sometimes in life you order 2 pieces. Sometimes those 2 pieces come out to you falling off of 2 paper plates. Sometimes you look and say "SWEET MERCY I'M ONLY EATING ONE OF THOSE!!". Today was not a day to only eat one of those. Well to be fair, it was, I just didn't bother to acknowledge that until I'd plowed my way through ½ of my second  slice. I can sit here and rationalize that I dabbed up a TON of oil, and it's thin crust, and blah blah blah, but bottom line… There was also chocolate fudge cake .  I know, right? I looked at the cake I'd said I'd split with my wonderful
