Something new for February

I think over the many, many, many many many years I've been working on some type of weight loss or body improvement, I've come to the realization that I can't say "I'm starting tomorrow!" or "I'm starting Monday!"

I just can't do it.

If I decide I'm starting something, I basically have to start the second I decide, or I'll talk myself out of it later. Or I'll forget (yep, that's totally happened). Case and point, the 90-day challenge I joined with some ladies back in October happened on a completely random day, and even though I found myself going "Wait uhhh what but cookies!", I still started making changes to my diet right then.

So for February, I found this link on a friend's Facebook page for "FABulous February". I'm going to try it, because you start out doing 5 sit-ups (oh Lord…), 20 mountain climbers, and 10 jumping backs. That's doable, right?

Imma let you finish, but shut it Kanye.
You get 2 rest days a week, and do a different routine every other day. Since it starts "small" (the mountain climbers scare me. a lot.), I think it will be easier since it's not like this is going to take forever. Every little bit of movement helps, right?!

I just don't feel great a lot these days. I have a part time job now (helloooooo discount!) which is great, but I'm finding my back and knees sore a lot more because I'm standing for hours at a time. If I could strength my bodaciousness, it would probably help with discomfort.

Sooo that's where I'm at. I'm too lazy to print the chart, so I have it set as my background picture on the laptop. I'm using Youtube to find proper form for stuff like the mountain climbers and back extensions.

Sidenote: homeboy in the mountain climbers video makes it look too easy. I don't trust him.

Regardless of your political leanings, you have to admit Michelle gives a mean stink eye.
Anyway. That's me. How's everyone else doing?

Shame Eating

I found the above image on the interwebs and it always makes me laugh. All.the.time. It's kinda true though, right? IF you've ever had any kind of food addiction then you know the sweet sweet embrace of "one more" handful of kettle corn (ahem), or "one more" piece of bread, or whatever . I was joking with my co-worker that I might as well be shame eating out of the Costco-sized bag of Kettle corn on my counter in the dark, licking the sweet and salty remnants off my fingers. That I can't be trusted alone with it. That I grab a bigger-than-small bowl and PILE it up, lamenting the few rogue pieces that make it to the floor. Another colleague overheard us and said she used to do that with angel food cake. She would sit it on the passenger side and just drive, picking at the fluffy confection. I know a girl who could knock out an entire family size container of Sara Lee pound cake. So friends, those are a few confessions. Using the powers of anonym...

Frustrations & Fertility

The Bearded Wonder and I got married on a sunny Saturday afternoon in September 2013. Barring a few minor hiccups, the day was pretty perfect. Per the (unfortunate) societal norms, people started asking questions like "So, next comes baby, right?" or "When are you guys going to start popping out kids?".  Between me, you, and the Internet, I was a virgin when I got married so I was in ZERO rush to start having kids. I wanted to enjoy being married for awhile, hopefully travel, and just settle in to living with this person I'd never lived with before.  It's funny to me now, looking back on those first few years. The Bearded Wonder had some job transitions which led to some tight finances. We got by (not without help), but I was in a constant state of fear that I'd get pregnant. We were just floating with the 2 of us, but adding a baby in the mix? Yikes. Definitely not the right time. I remember calling my best friend in a panic, "I'm crav...
